Father Simon left us a deeply spiritual and human legacy. With the publication of our first book, we are honored to share vivid testimonies from the final chapter of his life. Released on February 28, 2003—his birthday—this work was made possible thanks to the heartfelt efforts of Darbessama members. It stands as a living memory of our beloved Abouna and the enduring message he shared

This is how the great intuition that guided the entire movement of conjugal spirituality is illuminated and justified: 'Christian spouses are called to holiness, not in spite of marriage, but in and through marriage.' It is the entire fabric of daily life that is transformed by divine grace and offered to the spouses as 'a path to holiness.'

Upon learning about Father Simon's illness and witnessing his deep faith and acceptance of suffering, friends encouraged him to express himself through song. He embraced the idea wholeheartedly, believing that singing was a form of prayer.

Despite his declining health, he aimed to record three CDs reflecting the Mysteries of the Rosary as a musical extension of his beloved “Darbessama” project.

Though he passed away before completing them, one CD was made, capturing his final, heartfelt chant—a lasting spiritual gift from a “joyful priest” devoted to God.
